We don’t make acne disappear by hiding the condition behind a thick layer of make up or wearing a mask or costume as though it’s Halloween all year round, but by treating the fluctuating hormones, bacteria on the skin and fatty acids within oil glands.
In the same way, we don’t overcome depression by denial (oh yeah, let’s party!), repression (oh yeah, let’s party!), compensation, or any other defense mechanism. We must go deep to the root of the problem and work from there.
I guess it’s similar to trying to save the Titanic; we couldn’t have saved it by steering away from the iceberg judging its size according to the tip.
Excellent analogies!

Thank you, Grace 😊 I believe I had a breakthrough earlier. After a bit of a shake up, I should have something good (I hope) to share. 😊 I may have understood me more and how I handled what I went through.. processing 😄 I appreciate your comment, thank you 💖😊

It sometimes feels easier to pretend something isn’t there, but it usually helps a lot more to face it head on and deal with it.
